I'm using latest version (version 2.137.1102.0) and still getting this issue - can you help?
Hi @badkor3434 , hello pborah and saud968, thank you for your prompt reply!
Are you currently using the October 2024 version of Power BI Desktop?
If so, this issue has been reported internally.
As a workaround, we suggest connecting to PostgreSQL in the Power BI Service to create a dataflow, which you can then link to Power BI Desktop.
Alternatively, you can temporarily revert to a previous version to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your patience as we work on a fix. I will keep you updated with any new information.
Best regards,
Joyce

Hi, thanks for clarifying this. Our team spent a day to find out if this was the certificate/db change. September version worked right away!
Anyone who has installed it via Microsoft store - PowerBI tend to be updated automatically. So the update awarness might be low.
They should mention it on their main issues page too.
This is an issue with your SQL backend, not necessarily Power BI. Power BI sends an encrypted connection request to the server and if the server doesn't have it enabled, you will get that message. Check with your db admin.
Check Encryption Settings: I was try, it's not helped 😞
Server Name Mismatch: It's so srtrange, because I using Azure PostgreSQL. If they update certifacate and not update windows certificate base I will broke my hand. Because I really tired solving problem with microsoft products. really... But I will check this point. thank you
Recreate the Connection: Not working 😞 Same problem
Update Power BI Desktop: I don't see new updates 😞
hey just wanted to check if you were able to get this fixed.
Best Regards

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Check Encryption Settings:
Go to File > Options and Settings > Data Source Settings in Power BI Desktop.
Select your data source and click on Edit Permissions.
Ensure that the Encrypt connections option is checked if your database requires encrypted connections.
Server Name Mismatch:
Sometimes, this error can occur if the server name in the connection string doesn’t match the server name on the SSL certificate. Ensure that the server name you are using in Power BI Desktop matches exactly with the one on the certificate.
Update Power BI Desktop:
Make sure you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. Sometimes, updates include fixes for such issues.
Recreate the Connection:
Try deleting the existing connection and creating a new one to see if that resolves the issue.
Best Regards
