Embedding several live reports for different customers, based on a single report with diff datasets

Hi all,

(I've tried to find other forum posts in which our situation is described, but it seems there are differences between those situations and ours. If I've missed some other post, please let me know)

Our situation is as follows:

• We have several (ca 15) customers, and for each customer, we want to show the same report
• The report is the same, and the structure of the dataset (tables, fields) as well, but the data is in a separate database per customer (and each database has different credentials)
• The reports are probably going to be embedded in our website (eg via https://powerbi.microsoft.com/nl-nl/blog/easily-embed-secure-power-bi-reports-in-your-internal-porta...)
• The reports have to be updated automatically as data is continually added to the data sets. We do not want to manually periodically update the data for our customers
• When we want to change the report, e.g. by adding new graphs or tables, we prefer not to update it for every customer individually, but rather update once and 'release' the new version to our customers

I don't find the perfect solution that meets all your needs. Maybe you can try to use  template app: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-template-apps-overview

Hi Dedmon,

Thanks for your suggestion. I see that template apps do not support live data, so that won't help us very much I suppose.

I guess Query Parameters and Templates would be a better option for us? https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/deep-dive-into-query-parameters-and-power-bi-templates/
