Does anyone know if it's more efficient (from a performance/speed perspective) to write filters directly with DAX in a measure or to drag the columns to the visual level filter and filter from there?
For the exact same filter will visuals update quicker using one method versus the other?
I believe that the Power BI engine converts the visual level filter to a DAX expression, but I'm not sure if that expression is more efficient than writing a DAX filter expression directly in a measure. I'm also curious if the conversion process the engine needs to perform on a visual level filter to create a DAX expression affects performance.
Are there any articles about this?

Hi @JohnF1966 ,

@JohnF1966 great question, don't remember anything on top of head. May be you want to test this using DAX STudio by writing filter directly in a measure or using filter in filter pane.
