Editing a dataset with no report attached.

I created a basic report and a dataset as a pair, another admin then created a full featured report based on the initial dataset. It appears they also deleted the basic report from the pair.

I now need to amend the dataset but can't see a way of getting access to the dataset. What i had previously done was download the pbix that contained the basic report and the dataset. If i download the pbix of the full featured report this does include the dataset. and i can't see away of downloading the dataset as a separate entity.

Can anyone offer any guidance?

    Hi moloughlin ,

Sorry you cannot download the dataset separately, you can try this alternative solution, which is to analyze in Excel.

    Reference:

Analyze in Excel for Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

  • moloughlin , In power bi service, in workspace, we have the option to see dataset tab, if you download from there, it should contain data.
