Edit query on a published report
Hello,
I am new to PowerBI and hopefully can explain properly what my issue is.
I have a report which I inherited and the data for the tables come from Databricks via Import mode. I now published the report online our server.
Where I published the report in my workspace I got a "Report" and a "Semantic model" file. I now want to change the query which is importing the data into the report.
On PowerBI Desktop I do this via "Transform Data" and then select the query and change it. But I haven`t found anything similar either in the "Report" nor the "Semantic Model" file.
Is there a way to do this online via app.powerbi.com without opening the file in PowerBI Desktop?
Kind regards,
Max

Hi Max_25 ,
Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!
While you can view the report and dataset (semantic model) online, you can not change the data queries directly in the Power BI Service. To update the query, you need to open the PBIX file in Power BI Desktop, make your changes in “Transform Data,” then republish it. That is the only way to update the data logic behind your report for now.
I hope this helps. If so,consider accepting it as solution.
