Dynamically update data alert threshold from gauge

I have a gauge that has a target value (212.36) and an actual value (215.29). I pinned this gauge to a dashboard and created an alert. The alert auto sets the alert rule for when the actual is greater than the target. The problem I'm having is that the actual value is dynamic, but it hard codes the current value for the target (threshold). Both of these values will change each time the dataset is updated. Is there not a way to input only variables instead of hardcoding the threshold - something like: if actual > threshold then trigger alert? My threshold will change - so powerbi hardcoding the current target at the time of alert creation does not work. I knows what the target it, because it inputs the value to start with... so I'm hoping there is a way to leave it as a dynamic variable.

Thanks

  • djones I'm afraid that there is a way to set the dynamic target, may be you want to create an idea on ideas forum if it doesn't exists already or vote for the existing one.
