Hi,
The July 2017 update added the possibility to rename fields in charts, see Rename.
I would like to take it one step further - to be able to dynamically rename the fields, using a parameter or measure as input. For instance, I would like to reuse a report for several different customers. For a given chart, I would like to display 'Company Ltd' instead of 'Median of CustomerRevenue', where 'Company Ltd' for instance could be a parameter. Or a measure, containing the company name.
Does anyone have a way to do this currently? Or should I pitch this as a new idea?
Thanks
Hi @mrtn,
AFAIK, current power bi not support to dynamic rename visual field names.
If you mean create different reports with same visuals and different field names, I'd like to suggest you save original one as a template, then you can simply duplicate it as multiple versions for different customers.

In addition, you can also consider to submit an idea for this requirement.

Hi, and thanks for the answer.
Using templates simplifies the process somewhat, but still exensive clicking is needed to rename all the fields in the visuals of the report to reflect the customer name. This function needs to be added as part of the templates.
I have submitted this as a new idea:
