Dynamic password with Oracle connection?
Hi,
Is there a chance to have dynamic password in Oracle database connection? Basically now I am just typing in login and password by myself after selecting Oracle database connection. But I want to have a file (Excel/Access), where I can put my password and then Power BI will be taking the password from there. Is there any chance for that?
Hi jdmbkj,
The short answer is no. The credentials for data sources is not actually stored inside of the PBIX file. Instead it's stored in a zip file called User.Zip in the AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop. Inside the zip is a file called credentials.bin. That's where the credentials are being stored. This file is encrypted so there isn't anyway to modify it to make it dynamic.
Solved: Save Credentials for Excel in pbix file - Microsoft Power BI Community
