Dynamic filters on Summary Tables
Hello All,
I have created a summary table using a fact and dimensions:
A = CALCULATETABLE(SUMMARIZE('Fact',DimItem[ItemNumber],DimDate[MonthNumber],"GS",SUM('Fact'[TotalTranslatedRevenue])),FILTER(DimScenario,DimScenario[ScenarioName]="Actual"))
Then Again Summarized another table to create standard deviation based on months(12)
B= SUMMARIZE('A','A'[ItemNumber],"Revenue",SUM('A'[GS]),"StdDev",STDEV.P('A'[GS]),"Average",AVERAGE('A'[GS]))
Which is fine but now my problem is dynamic filtering.
I want "A" to be filtered dynamically when i select a company.(assuming that if A is filtered then B will automatically filtered)
My fact has CompanyKey joined with CompanyDimension
when i try to put CompanyName from CompanyDimension on the slicer visualization, the "A" summary table is not filtering.
if i get CompanyName also from CompanyDimension to "A" then Standard Deviations are getting wrong cus records are getting increasing.(which i dont want)
What is the correct way to achieve it..??
Any help..!!
Thanks in advance.

Can you share the data model and sample data to look into providing an appropriate solution.

Hi taumirza,
According to your description, you want to filter the both of the tables, right?
If as I said, you can add relationships between ‘tabel A’ and ‘table B’, then you can use a slicer to filter two table at the same time.
>> when i try to put CompanyName from CompanyDimension on the slicer visualization, the "A" summary table is not filtering.
Did you have the relationship between ‘CompanyDimension’ table and ‘table A’, if they don’t have the relationship, you can’t use the unrelated column to filter a table.
If above not help, can you provide more information about your issue? (e.g. you table structure, sample data, relationships…)
