Dynamic filter based on slicer selection for waterfall chart

I have a waterfall chart with sales data in two years, 2016 and 2017. I want to see the breakdown of sales growth YoY by three different types of POS. Types of POS are as below:

Base POS: For all which were launched in or before the month selected in slicer(page level filter).

2016 POS: All those POS which were launched in 2016 after the selected month.

2017 POS: All those POS launched in 2017.

The problem is when I select single or multiple months, I want to see the sales growth from year 2016 to 2017 from these different types of POS. While at the same time, POS have to be categorised based on the months selected in the slicer. Please help.

For example, considering month selected in slicer is June and if the sales in June 2016 are $1 million and sales in June 2017 are $1.5 million. I want to analyse growth from the type of POS selected. Base POS in this case are all those which were launched before July 2016. 2016 POS are those which were launched between June 2016 and Jan 2017. Those launched after Dec 2016 are 2017 POS.

I have sales data from around 20 POS(point of sales). Some of these were opened before 2016, some in 2016 while others in 2017. I want to analyze increase in sales YoY(year on year) from 2016 to 2017. I have a slicer to select one or more number of months.

I want to see the sales growth in these months as a waterfall chart while the breakdown is these POS which are categorised as below.

Base POS: All POS which were opened during or before the selected period of 2016.

2016 POS: All those POS launched in 2016 after the selected month or months.

2017 POS: Those launched in 2017.

For example, if the month selected in slicer is June. All the POS launched before July 2016 are base POS. And if multiple months like June to Sep are selected, those launched before Oct 2016 are base POS. Those launched after the selected month or months are 2016 POS while the remaining are 2017 POS.

I want to see growth from each type of POS. If sales in June 2016 are $1 million and in June 2017 are $1.5 million. I want to analyse the growth of $0.5 million from these types of POS.

      Hi v-yulgu-msft,

Thanks for your quick response. Please find below the attached screenshots with sample data and chart. Sorry that I didn't upload files as I couldn't find an option to upload them. Those launched before the selected month in slicer are base doors while all others are FY17 or FY18 doors depending on their financial year of launch.

      Thanks & regards,
