Dynamic category reading a date slicer
Hello the Power BI Community,
I am new here and I am facing a difficulty. I hope that you could help.
I am creating a pre/post analysis template and I am facing diffculties to define dynamic time periods (pre / post)
What is already done ? The user chooses a time period on a slicer and hence define a 'post' period. I defined from there a start and end date for both the previous and post periods so they have the same duration.
What I want to do ? I woud like to create a dynamic 'Period' category / column so that I can compare metrics evolution.
The option would be : Pre / Post / Out of range
Thank you very much for your contribution.

Hi TeigeGao ,
Below is a screenshot of the slicer. The user select a timeframe on the slicer. It defines a period, the 'Post' one. Then by symmetry the previous one is defined with the same time range.
My issue is I don't manage to create a global category 'Period' which will be 'pre', 'post' or 'out of range'. The aim being to compare metrics from pre/post period on the same visual like the one below.
I also created two related tables which contains respectively dates of the pre and post periods.
Below you can find the model.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Naïm
