Anonymous ouch that wouldn't work because you are changing your measure to a TEXT, it is not a number anymore. I would recommend to use a bookmark to switch between visuals.

Anonymous try this and not sure if it will work, create following measures and change their format from the menu by selecting the measure and in measure tools change the format, one with % and other with the number
Number Measure = SUM('Table'[Value])
Percent Measure = [Number Measure]
Output Measure =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE('Table'[Type])= "Number",
[Number Measure],
[Percent Measure]
)

Anonymous my apologies, it is not going to work, since new measure will not use the format of reference measure. I guess bookmark and visual selection is your best friend.
