Dynamic Date Slicer using Direct Query: How to show todays date

Hi all!

I am looking for a way to have a dynamic date in the date slicer while using a live connection to a cube. I would like for the user to be able to see for example todays date in the right box when he/she views the report in the Sharepoint portal. This would change dynamically depending on which day the user opens the report.

Example:

2017-01-01 to 2018-03-15

I haven't managed to find a way to do this using direct query. Any suggestions?

Hi @KrystalNilsen

Did you try out the relative slicer?

@v-jiascu-msft

Thank you for your suggestion!

I have looked into this previously, it is however not quite what I am looking for visually. I would like to keep the "between" look of the visual and have only those dates change. I am starting to suspect that this might not be somthing I can do in Power BI at this time.

Hi @KrystalNilsen,

Yes, I would suggest you create an idea here.

Best Regards,

Dale
