Duplication of Fields When Refreshing Data

Please help me understand why my updated data is not Refreshing. Because it wouldn't Refresh, I went to

"Get Data>>>Transform Data>>>Apply Changes" at which point a duplicate Field containing the updated data is created. I want to Refresh without creating duplicating me dataset. Please help. Thank you.

This can happen if the query references itself or another query that is merged with it.

Please supply your code so it can be checked.
