Drilldown Choropleth Gone???
SICcoding89 I'm thinking that the ultimate explanation of this comes down to this bug: WebView2 Update broke Appsource visuals rendering - Microsoft Fabric Community. That coupled with what seems like a relatively recent removal of the Drilldown Choropleth from AppSource. It was there November 2023 according to the Wayback Machine and still being referenced up until April 2024.
Community ChampionSICcoding89 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this to be honest. I *thought* that when you added a custom visual to Desktop that it saves the visuals in the PBIX. If you change the .pbix extension to .zip you should be able to see the pbiviz file in the Reports\CustomVisuals directory.
I tested this on two separate files, one where I installed a custom visual from AppSource and one where I installed it from the pbiviz file. Both times the pbiviz file showed up in the Reports\CustomVisuals folder. So, I'm left to wonder just exactly how this happened that those visuals are blank and lost all of their settings.
Can copy one of the .pbix files to a .zip file and check the Reports\CustomVisuals folder within the .zip and see if the pbiviz file is there?
Greg_Deckler confirming I see the Choropleth maps .pbiviz file when saving as a zip. Opening up the report in PBI desktop this afternoon visuals are populating and app icon is again showing. That is weird but happy its working until I get a new solution in place. Did try to find the add in from "Get More Visuals" section and does not appear. Looking around in GitHub, not seeing any recent activity.
