Drill down feature on matrix, table visualization in Power BI Desktop

Hi All, Can we do the drill down feature on matrix ,table visualization in power bi desktop instead of Charts.   Regards, Narendra M

Hi Narendra,

 

No. We are not able to perform drill down action in a table or matrix visual.

 

The drill down feature needs hierarchies between fields. Because of the rendering mechanism of a table or matrix visual, those hierarchies can display completely when we drag those fields to a table or matrix. So we needn't to perform drill down action to see detail data.

Hi, 

 

Is it still current that we can't perform a drill down action in a table or matrix visual.

 

For example I have a list of data displayed in a table. Then I want to click one of the items in the table and it takes me to a detailed report for that item. Is this possible? As this is a application I will be using PowerBI embeded.

    Totally agree on this!  We have a four level account structure that I'd really like to be able to drill on in a matrix visual.  Most users really only need the highest level of reporting but some do like to drill down for details.  The only way for me to accomplish this now with a matrix is to create separate pages.  However as I get down to account level three and four most of my screen real estate is taken up layering of account descriptions vs. actual data.
