Drawing a 75 km radius in Power BI map visual

Hello everyone,

I am trying to create a map visual in Power BI, where when I select one data point, e.g. a specific store on either the map or a slicer, a 75 km radius is drawn around the data point on the map. I need that to see, where there are both existing stores and also which cities are in that specific radius, such that I know where I can open a new store.

I have tried these options:
1. Calculating the distance between the points and plotting that like in (https://workout-wednesday.com/pbi-2021-w43/). However, that does not solve my problem, since I am dependent on there being points in exactly a 75 km distance to get the correct view.

2. Using the ArgCis map with a drive time layer, however I can only do that for 5 stores at a time (i have a lot more), and the user is not able to alter the drive time layer in the service.

Are there any other solutions to my problem? 🙂

Thanks!

    Hi maria_jorgensen ,

As you are trying, using ArgCis map with a Ring buffer layer is a good alternative.

I have not found any other better alternative to this solution to achieve your needs.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.
