Donut Chart - Change Filter
The way the Donut and Pie charts filter (below) is extremely confusing in my opinion.
Is there any way to override this so when a selection is made, it changes the total value of each segment in the pie chart instead of showing you the share of your selection versus the total?
Are you looking to just filter down based on the selection you made in another visual?
You might be looking for the "Visual Interactions" function. This is where you can choose what type of interaction a visual can have with what ever else is on the page. For visuals like donut and pie, there are 3 types of visual interactions: filter, highlight (default) and none.
It sounds like you want the "filter" function. In Power BI Desktop, you can find this under Visual Tools - Format once you select a visual. In Power BI Service, it's on the top ribbon.
Let me know if you need more information, thanks.
