Dont see First, Last, Count (Distinct), Count etc... on Columns dropdown
- Anonymous1 year ago
Hi Impromptu ,
Agree with Irwan .
After testing, I can basically rule out the possibility that there is a problem with the version 2.138.1203.0 64-bit (November 2024) of Power BI Desktop. At the same time, I also checked the settings of the pbix, and they are all correct. I copied the data of the pbix and used it to recreate a new pbix, and it was also normal.
I personally feel that there is something wrong with this pbix. I suggest that you try to contact the author of this pbix and ask him if he has performed some operations or settings that may cause this problem.
It is also possible that this pbix was created a long time ago and used a very old version of Power BI Desktop, which is incompatible with the latest or most recent version of Power BI Desktop. However, I have no idea what version the pbix was created with, so I have no way to verify it.
My suggestion is that you can copy the data and then use it to recreate a pbix yourself for your testing.
Best Regards,
Dino Tao

Impromptu IN your screen shot, data category is set as "Uncategorized". Try to set the data category as "Country" from here and then check the dropdown for First, Last, Count (Distinct), Count etc..
thanks... I tried that but didn't work. Its the same if I bring in other text columns.
I got the pbix from Marco Russo's site, but for some reason, can't get the First, Last, Count etc...
not sure if its setting somewhere
