Hello Team,
Good day !
I want to enquire if there is a possibility to connect to database(SQL) on remote server(Linux) from PowerBI desktop using mutual TLS authentication ?
Basically I want to authenticate my connection through mutual TLS where my local computer(client - with PowerBI desktop installed) will have verified certificate and want to connect to database(SQL) hosted on remote server(Linux) . The Linux server will also contain certificate for verification.
Thus both client and server will use x509 digital certificates to authenticate each other.
Please let me know if that feature is available in Latest Power BI Desktop version ?
Thanks & Regards,
Akash

Hi, @Akash_K_Sinha
Power BI Desktop does support mutual TLS authentication, but it requires TLS version 1.2 or higher to secure your endpoints. You also need to configure the client certificate in Power BI Desktop to authenticate with the server that has its own trusted root authority.
Power BI Security - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
One of the web sources suggests using Mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) to connect through a TCPS (Secure TCP) database connection using standard TLS 1.2 with a trusted client certificate authority (CA) certificate.
