Does Power BI Copilot support creating all visual types (e.g., Matrix)?
Hi Community,
I’m exploring Power BI Copilot and its capabilities for creating visuals. I noticed that Copilot can generate charts and narrative visuals, but I couldn’t find any documentation confirming whether it supports all visual types—specifically the Matrix visual.
Could someone clarify:
- Does Copilot currently support creating Matrix visuals or other advanced visuals like Treemap, Funnel, etc.?
- Is there an official list of supported visuals or limitations?
- Are there any plans to expand this capability in future updates?

Neeraj123 Hi! For what I know and what I see from the Microsoft Learn documentation and Copilot behavior in Power BI:

Matrix & advanced visuals: Copilot does not reliably create Matrix visuals or advanced visuals like Treemap, Funnel, Decomposition Tree, or custom visuals; these usually need to be created manually.

Supported visuals list: There is no official Microsoft list of supported or unsupported visuals; Copilot mainly works best with basic charts (bar, line, pie, simple tables).

Future plans: Copilot is continuously evolving, but there is no public roadmap confirming when full support for all visual types will be available.
