Does Cross report drillthorugh work for Live Connection as target ?

Hi Experts

I have a source PowerBI file (with Imported Data), I wish to enable cross drillthough feature that passes the fitler to a target PowerBI file that has Direct query connection.  I tried based on the documentations, it works when both the files has import data connection but not for Direct connection. 

Appreciate any form of help!

I'd like to suggest test with same connection mode reports to confirm if this feature only works on same connection mode. (These connection modes has different data storage and process methods)
