Do not filter one column when multiple columns there in the visual

Hi all,

I have created a report, so i am using 2 visuals (Bar chart and Matrix). Using 4 columns in the visuals, so when we filter the values in the slicers then only column should not filter in the visuals rest columns should filter. Attached image below.

As per Image - when we select value in Categorization then the Costplanname value should not change in the visuals but the categorization values should change.

Please help

    Hi JaipalAnu ,

According to your description, here are my steps you can follow as a solution.

    (1) This is my test data.

    (2) We can create a table.

    Table 2 = VALUES('Table'[Categorization])

    (3) We can create a measure.

    Costplan Measure = IF(MAX('Table'[Categorization]) in VALUES('Table 2'[Categorization]),CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Costplan]),FILTER(ALLSELECTED('Table'),'Table'[Year]=MAX('Table'[Year]) && 'Table'[Categorization] in VALUES('Table 2'[Categorization]))),BLANK())

    (4) Then the result is as follows.

If the above one can't help you get the desired result, please provide some sample data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples. It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. Thank you.

You can use Edit interactions feature in Power BI. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Select the visual that you want to apply the interaction to.
    2. Click on the Visualizations pane on the right-hand side of the screen.
    3. Click on Edit interactions.
    4. Select None for all visuals except for the one that you want to exclude from filtering.
    5. Select Filter for the visual that you want to exclude from filtering.

If you find this insightful, please provide a Kudo and accept this as a solution.

Visual has multiple columns, i don't want to filter only one column in Matrix but other columns should filter.

It is something Like, Column A should not filter Column B. And both the columns are in same table. Also, visual has other columns also there along with these two columns (Column C, Column D etc..) , but only Column A should not filter column B in the visual.
