Displaying monthly and daily values on same chart

Hi there,

I am plotting a few graphs using an area chart. The x-axis contains Month name. The graphs always show the value up to last month. For example, Today (i.e. 29-10-2020) graphs present on the area chart show values of until 30-09-2020. I have created a measure that calculates value up to date (let's call this measure as measure1). Now I want to display measure1 on the same area chart. The problem is that x-axis contains month name and I want to show the date when displaying measure1 on the chart because the value of measure1 changing everyday unlike other graphs of the area chart (which changes once a month). Is there any smart way that I could display daily values with monthly values in the same chart?

    You could try using tooltips or report page tooltips, otherwise is there a reason you need this information to be on the same chart? Maybe it could work to have another chart just for this month that displays the daily data?
  • Dunner2020 , Assume you want data till last month monthly and this month daily.

    You can have a column like this in your date table

    Date new  = if([date]<=eomonth(today(),-1), eomonth([date],0),[date])

    this will give only one last date for all past month

    also you can have column like

    Date Text with Month= if([date]<=eomonth(today(),-1), format([date],"MMM-YYYY"),[date]&"")

    This you can use in visual . Sort [Date Text with Month] on [Date new]
