Display values for a slider in Power BI?

Hi to all!

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to use display values for a slider?

 

My problem:
I have a table with period IDs, which are logically text values. But I also have date values or sort column values assigned in the table. I could now imagine using one of these values as the basis for a slider, but displaying the period IDs as they are more intuitive for users to use. Since it is supposed to filter a YTD (i.e. cumulative values) in the report, I find a dropdown slicer absolutely impractical in this case.

 

 

 

The screenshot of the slider shows what I would like to have as a result.

 

I am also open to a workaround. Thank you!

    Regarding the issue you raised, my solution is as follows:

    Hello, at this time, it's not possible to create a "Between" formatted slicer with values other than numbers and date types, which in Power BI are typically used to work with numeric or date-type data, rather than text-type data. I feel regretful to inform you that it turns out to be a by-design one.

    We recommend using the last column directly as the slicer:

     

     

     

    Of course, if you have any new discoveries, please share them with us.

     

    If you feel that performance needs to be improved, you can also submit an idea on

    https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com/ and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you and help you realize the idea as soon as possible. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded bed on customers’ feedback.  With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.
