Display table details based on click on another table

I have previously used this wonderful guide to hide/show data on my report: Show or Hide a Power BI Visual Based on Selection - Excelerator BI

However, I now have two tables that are linked (data actually comes from the same source), and for the status of presentation I would only like the 'information table' to display information when a tick box in the 'summary table' above is clicked.

The 'information table' deals with HTML, so uses that additional view to effectively display the data - whilst the 'summary table' is actually a Table Visualization.

So, if the above table has a summary of countries - UK, France, Spain, etc - I only want the below information table to provide the additional information when one of the rows above is clicked.

Currently, the click does display the relevant detail; but if nothing is selected a collection of data is displayed below which although not report breaking, is not ideal.

Any ideas as to solutions?

Many thanks!

I fixed this by taking filters off and then changing the table interactions (so it doesn't automatically filter now, and therefore only displays results when it is clicked on).

Thanks - sorry for not being clear, I'll see if I can share something.

Essentially, I don't want a filter/slicer; I want a table (which is already displaying results) that then controls the detail that is displayed (or not) in another visualisation.

Hi  @Anonymous ,

Do you want to display others when no content is selected?

You can make an IF statement judgment after your measure

1. Create some data:

2. Create measure.

Measure =
var _1=SELECTEDVALUE('Table'[countries])
return
IF(MAX('Table'[countries])=_1,
MAXX(FILTER('Table','Table'[countries]=_1),'Table'[info]),
"no select")

3. Result.

When selecting, display the corresponding value.

When it is not selected, "no select" is displayed.

If the result does not meet your expectations, can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.

Liu Yang
