Disabling cross highlighting/filtering by Default setting doesn't work

I have followed the directions found in many posts on how to turn off interactions so you don't spend hours clicking the "ghostbusters" icon on every last visual element on the page.

It Doesn't Work.

Pasting a new visual on the page results in ALL INTERACTIONS being left on.

Is there some cache thing going on? Something else?

I should mention that after about 5 minutes, going back into the Options shows the "Disabling" option is turned back off.

Hi @dthompsonKairos

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

This is a known issue in Power BI where the "Disabling cross highlighting/filtering by default" setting under Query Reduction does not persist or apply as expected. It’s likely a bug or an incomplete implementation, not a cache issue. Unfortunately, there's no reliable workaround at the moment other than manually adjusting interactions.

We understand the inconvenience caused by the issue where the "Disabling cross highlighting/filtering by default" setting under Query Reduction does not persist or work as expected. This concern has been reported by multiple users and is being discussed in the Microsoft Fabric Community and Ideas forum.

As it seems to be a known issue, possibly due to a bug or incomplete implementation, we are hopeful that Microsoft will address it in a future update. In the meantime, we request your patience and recommend manually adjusting the interactions as a temporary workaround.

Thank You!
