Disable "R-Installation" PopUp

Hello everybody,

Everytime i start PowerBI I am greeted by this PopUp Message saying that no R-Installation was detected. I have read in another post, that to disable this PopUp i need to delete all the R-Visuals.  That's where I struggle. there is one R-Visual installed as you can see in the attached screenshot.

But when i open the menu to delete custom visuals, it doesn't appear in the list. also right-clicking on it does nothing. so it must be some sort of pre-installed visual? Any Ideas how to delete it? Or other ways to disable that annoying popup message?

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

The R-Visual is a build-in visual, it will pop-up no detected warning when there are at least one R-Visual used in your report and there are no R Engine installed in your computer. You can learn more about R-Visual here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-r-visuals

"Delete all R-Visuals" means delete all the R-Visual used in your report, not in the visual panel, You can try to open a empty file and see if the message still pop up.

HI

I deleted every visual from my report, and am left wtih a blank front page. I removed R from the visuals pane too.

I still have this pop-up.

Is there any other way to remove?

R can be used in Query Editor as well.
So I expect that your R is not in visual, but in data level.

thank you, that was really helpful! i deleted all the visuals, that weren't used in any panel one-by-one to pinpoint which one was the culprit 🙂 now the pop-up message is gone.

thanks again
