Hi amitchandak & vanessafvg and thx for your feedback. I thought I had replied but it seems I forgot to push the last button... Anyway, problem solved, and shame on me: after several hours skratching my head with this, I finally noticed that a tiny little query was still aiming at a local file (I had simply forgotten to change it to a 'web' connector. Once I truly only remained with web and azure sql connections, then I was no longer asked to use the datagateway...

are you using the one drive connector? that way you dont need a gateway. when you say a web connector what are you referring, to, i think a web connection requires a gateway.
