Direct Query to Cloudera Impala/Hive in Power BI Desktop

Hi,

I have a Cloudera Hadoop Cluster with Kerberos Authentication. I want to do DirectQuery on Impala(preferred)/Hive.

Can anyone share the details if anyone has successfully established connectivity between Power BI and Impala?

Currently, I get error SSL authentication failed. I have a certificate file but I could not find an option to specify its value anywhere.

Is there any other way to establish DirectQuery Connectivity between Impala/Hive and Power BI maybe by using some other connector?

Would really appreciate any pointers.

Thanks.

Hi Lionel,

Thanks for your reply.

I had a few queries.
The solution is using Impala Connector. And our Impala server is using kerberos authentication with a certificate but there is no option to specify that with Impala Connector. So I was wondering if I am missing anything?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Maybe you can use the Impala connector of Power BI Desktop directly.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for your inputs but it didn't work.

I have a .pem file which we are using for Authentication in ODBC DSN connection to Cloudera Impala.

But as I mentioned I am looking for Direct Query connectivity to Cloudera Impala/Hive.
