Hi,
I am trying to build a report with direct query on my sales table. The sales table is only 4.000 rows in a SQL database in Azure. In Power BI Desktop I have made a one to many relationship between a sales date in my sales table and my date table. When I try to add "Finance Year" from my date table linked to the sales table it fails. Why? The data tables includes only 5.000 dates.
Check the relationship arrows. Can you get "from here to there" or is your data model blocking the path?
Sometimes you can mitigate the issue by adding a measure to the visual.
Hi @lbendlin
Not sure what you mean. I have a one to many relationship between my date table and my sales table.
I have only one date in my date table and many dates (posting dates) in my sales table. The direct query report works until I add something like "Finance Year" or "Year" from the date table. But why can it not run this simple direct query?
Yes, that should work. What do you see when you click "see details" ?
Hi,
I get this error
