Direct Query for Power BI dataset (composite models) - Sequence contains more than one element

When trying to combine an existing  Power BI dataset in my current PBix-desktop file, I get following message:

I was getting the same error while trying to refresh the semantic model in Desktop.  I solved it by moving to a new table the measures I had created locally (I had initially added them to one of the DirectQuery tables).

Hi, @lbr_finvision

First, you should check if you have updated your desktop version to the newest and if you logged in to the correct account. Then you can try to open pbix2 first and insert the dataset1 into it and find if it can work.

I’ve also searched this error online, here are two cases that may contain a solution to your problem, you can take a look:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Error-Retrieving-Power-BI-Service-sources-sequence-contains...

@veenashenolikar  thanks for your reply.

As consultant I often use different accounts indeed.

The case is as follows:

pbix1 en pbix2 publisheed to workspace of customer with customer account resulting in dataset1 and dataset2.

Now I try to indsertr datasource in pbix1, namely dataset2 and get beforementionned error.

I do not understand where I should double check logging out?

Thanks in advance.

@lbr_finvision

Can you share your pbix file.. I am not able to replicate your scenario.

Hi @lbr_finvision

I faced a similar issue as I was working with 2 different accounts and didnt properly log off from first before opening a dashboard connected to second user. Do you have any such scenario?

Also make sure you install the latest version on Desktop.
Besides, I will appreciate that if you can share the PBIX file, I will test it in my Desktop.

Thanks
