Direct Query Reports and Datasets Scheduled Refresh

Anonymous yes in the DQ case it will refresh every hour (depends on what you set in schedule refresh) but it will not refresh report visuals, only dashboard visuals. You need to implement Auto Page Refresh for the report to refresh. Check here about the refresh method and DQ you can see the report visual doesn't refresh when the dataset refreshes.

    parry2k Thanks for responding to my question. However, I'm still not clear what is going on. My problem relates to Refreshing the dataset (and displaying the latest data) when a user initially opens the report, not Auto Refreshing the page. I thought that was how Direct Query worked, I thought that is what I had set up. Regards, Pete
