Direct Query Mode: mergeing queries as new query
Hello!
My .pbix file uses one datasource (Oracle Database) in Direct Query mode.
I am now trying to merge two Queries as a new one (Query Editor). The merge works as expected however when saving the changes and closing the Query Editor I get an error message stating that I can not combine direct query sources and importet sources:
Is this expected behaviour? Anything I could do about this?

I may have found a workaround by duplicating one of the queries first and then merging with the second query. This should (in my opinion) lead to the same result as the option "merge as new query".
Still feedback from anyone who knows more about this would be very much appreciated as this error message makes me wonder...

Any chance you can do the merge in the background instead? Like a materialized view since you're in Oracle?
This would be advantageous, as you'll be able to change the code in your view as many times as you want, and it will be essentially "seamless" to your report.
Gotcha. Well if it helps at all, I am constantly getting errors stating I can't combine features from DirectQuery and DirectImport types. I think it's a known limitation.
