Direct Query Help is not updated in published dashboard.

Good morning Dear,

I am working on a Dashboard with Direct Query data source, I have configured that every 30 minutes the dashboard will update the information.

In Power BI Desktop I can view the update but with the published dashboard the update is not displayed.

I've already done several tests but I can't get it updated in the published dashboard.

Do I have to make any extra settings to be able to view the updated information in the published dashboard?

Thank you very much for the help.

Best regards

Sergio Atz.

    Hi,

could you check the following settings? These may be the cause.

    1. Did you enter working credentials in the refresh settings in Power BI? You can check this by going to your dataset in Power BI service and looking for the following setting. Here a valid credential should be added

refresh settingserror when no credentials are entered

    2. If you are working from an on-premise datasource you need to allocate the datasource to a on-prem gateway (if you do not have a gateway yet, check out On-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Docs for more details)

    add dataset to gateway

Does this solve the refreshing issue? If not, perhaps you could manually refresh the report from power BI service and provide us with an error message when/if the refresh fails?

    Best regards,

    Tim

      Hola Tim,

I tell you that I have reviewed what you have indicated to me, this data is correct and working.

It doesn't give me any upgrade issues.

In Power BI online I manage to visualize the update but when I see the link that I generate to publish I do not see the update.

Thank you so much for the help.

      Best regards

      Sergio

    Hi Syndicate_Admin ,

Check if the refresh has successed in Refresh History.

Normally tile refresh happens automatically following a data refresh. If it's not refreshed, you can force a tile refresh by selecting More options (...) in the upper right of a dashboard and selecting Refresh dashboard tiles.

    Best Regards,

    Jay

      Hi Jay,

I'm asking you that the update is successful.

But I don't see the update on the published dashboard.

      Best regards

      Sergio.
