Different results on same visualisation between Desktop and Online
I have imported the same dataset into PowerBI Desktop and then again into PowerBI Online.
I've attempted to create a line chart to show the $ amount of sales by Month. The Online gives me a chart which has placed the dates into sequence with the corresponding $ amounts. The Desktop application however has charted the $ amounts from highest to lowest and scattered the dates all over the place.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why, and how to change it to just show me a simple Line Chart for the months and their $ amounts. See comparisons attached. What am I doing/not doing?

Agree with Amit's solution.
You can set the X-axis type in Power BI Desktop to republish the report.
Or edit the report in Power BI Service and change the type of X-axis according to your needs.Hope it helps,

Marty_Dub , if you have not done axis type change on power bi service after publish. Then just clear cache and refresh
Or republish -> Clear Cache and Refesh and try again

Thank you for the suggestion - I'm not sure I'm following though sorry. The X-Axis for my visualisation in the Desktop version is set as Catagorical. It's not allowing me to change to Continuous - it just resets back to Catagorical whenever I select it.

The X-axis is divided into two types:
- Continuous: The Continuous axis is only applicable to numeric Data, like date and time. If we are using a continuous axis, then we don’t have control over the scale, which means if we are extending the date range or increasing the size of the chart, the scale automatically adjusts.
- Categorical: The Categorical axis can use text or number, and also it levels every data point.

Or you may edit it in Power BI Service to see if it works.
