This is an engine limitation in Azure Analysis Services Tabular. Detail Rows (drillthrough) must fully materialize the result set in memory, and when a table exceeds 2 billion rows, internal rowset and engine constraints can prevent it from working. There is no supported server setting, configuration change, or compatibility tweak to bypass this limit. The supported approach is to use a separate smaller detail table, DirectQuery for drillthrough, or a Paginated Report for large row-level retrieval.
