Desktop Refresh Failure - Failed to save modifications to the server - Lookup Value Function

Hi,

First time posting.

I am having trouble Refreshing Power BI Desktop. I manually refresh the dataset, as the onsite gateway needs to be fixed.  So use a personel gateway.

I recently reduced the number of Queries that required a Report Refresh from data sources but all connected to their sources.  As when I was previoulsy refreshing this task was crashing the web source - Jira (time out error).

The new error message states the following (on all refresh queries):

Failed to save modificaitons to the server. Error returned: 'Function LOOKUPVALUE expects a column reference as argument number 1. Expressions that yield variant data-type cannot be used to defined calculated columns. an unexted exception occurred.

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Thank you for your response.

I found out my issue and was able to resolved it successfully.  I removed some queries from being enable load, as well as being refreshed.  Which casued my isssue, as when I placed these back in place, the error message did not occur.

As for my personal gateway, I've refreshed this to the latest version.  The On-Premise Gateway has also been updated with latest version.  I am going to start another question, as i think this current error I raised, was not affected by this.

Hi there

It would appear that in your DAX measure you are using the LOOKUPVALUE function?

Also is your Personal Gateway the latest version?
If your Power BI Desktop is the May Edition and your On-Premise Gateway is older than May there might be differences when it tries to refresh. So I would suggest updating the On-Premise Gateway.
