Deployment Failed After Migration to Premium Capacity

Good morning everyone,

I'll give first a bit of context. We have three deployment pipelines:

- The first one is exclusively dataflows (approx. 50), used for testing purposes, connected to Azure Databricks;

- The second one contains all the datasets used for reporting purposes, connected to Azure Databricks and containing some tables generated within the datasets (for Calendar and slicers);

- The third one has all the reports to be shared with end users, connected to the datasets in the second pipeline.

Yesterday the IT team migrated to all the workspaces to premium capacity and some of the datasets failed or resulted as "blocked" in the UAT environment. When I tried to push from dev to UAT, the below message appeared:

Also to note that none of the dataflows failed or encountered any issue, and not all the datasets failed despite having mostly the same structure.

And somehow this morning everything went back to normal and started working again, for no particular reason.

Could someone help me having a better understanding of what happened, what was the issue and what could be done to prevent it?

Thanks for your support

  • Hi , alexpbi88

    With your issue description, your deployment pipeline experienced partial dataset deployment failures yesterday, the dataflow didn't experience issues, and today it didn't run into issues again. For convenience, you can follow this official document to check if there are any restrictions on deployment pipeline dataset deployment?

    Deployment pipelines, the Power BI Application lifecycle management (ALM) tool, process - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

    If you confirm that there is no one, you can observe for a few more days, and if you encounter an error again, you can expand the specific error detail and copy it in the case reply in text format at your convenience.

    Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
