Default value in the filter

I don't think there is an option to choose a default value dynamically in a slicer or filter pane.

I had a similiar situation for month slicer and I want to show the latest month as default.

Ended up duplicating the month column and dynamically placing the value "Current" for latest month flag.Then used the "New Column" in slicer with Current value as default. The new column updates when the month rolls over based on Latest month flag.

It is unavailable to set a default value directly in the filter pane dynamically in Power BI currently.
