Decimal separators for csv data

Hi,

I am trying to import data from SAS Entreprise guide that I saved as a csv file but when I import it in BI all my decimal numbers are transfmored in text format. The decimal separator in my case is a dot (.) and when I try converting it back to decimal numbers I have errors everywhere. Need help!!

@Anonymous , the decimal separator is a setting

If this correct then you should able to change the data type to decimal

Hi @Anonymous ,

In the query editor insert a new step to replace the dots by commas and then format as decimal.

Hi @MFelix

I am very very new to Power BI, what is the step i need to add?

Thank you for your quick answer!

@Anonymous, You must choose the column or columns you need to have has decimal, right click then on the context menu select replace text, fill in the values as needed. This will create a new step on your query with the changes then format as decimal.

Regards

Miguel Félix
