Dates and years

Within the social domain we are dealing with the start and end date of a provision. Now you often want to know how many unique inhabitants had a certain facility in a given year. So all unique young people with a provision in 2017. In excel is that strangling with complicated formulas.
Is that an easy option in PowerBI?

      The link may help with my assignment. Have tried to copy the example, but get the below error message. The fields are a date field, so I have no idea why it goes wrong.

        Hi  Bronckhor5

         

        .[Date] is usually used for hierarchy date.I would suggest you remove all the .[Date] in your formula.
