Dates EUR / US problem
Of course you could change the source or ask people to change the source.
But if not possible how would you fix this in Power Query :
This is a European date meaning 2nd of Jan.
Now when I import this source in power query it makes :
So Feb 1st which is not correct. My local setting is US and must remain that way.
Besides that it now gives me wrong dates it also gives error with these lines:
It expects months first but of course there is no month 15.
Is there a way to tell power bi that this date column is in dd/mm/yyyy format and must convert it first to mm/dd/yyyy before I can set the Date type on that column?
That depends on the type of sources you have. Some of them have optimal parameters that you can set to select a certain culture or locale.

Go to options and settings -> options -> Under "Current File" select "Regional Settings" and choose any european "Locale for Import".
