Date type from Tabular source

Hello,

I have a datetime in my tabular which I want to be used in my Power BI desktop as Date field (and use data hierarchy).

Unfortunately it appears as normal text field.

Here's the definition of my field in my tabular :

date_tabular_properties.PNG

Note : The field comes from a view and is a datetime type.

Here's what I get in my tabular :

date_power_bi.PNG

Finillay  what I'd like to get (example directly connected to SQL Server view) :

date_power_bi_expected.PNG

Do you have an idea how I can resolve this issue ?

Thank you,

Tus

Hi @Anonymous

It is of date type only. Whenever source is tabular model it will not display calendarsymbol before column.

If you want to verify it at power bi side just drag the column in slicer. if it is allowing you to use after/before/between slicer then it is of datetype only.
