Date slicer not appearing

Hi,

I have recently changed a date format from text to date so I could get the relative time filter to work and use a date slicer.

However this hasn't happened - I can only get a dropdown/list to filter for day/month/year but not the relative time filter.

If anyone has any ideas on what to do to resolve this that'd be great.

Thanks.

Hi @v-kelly-msft

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't work.

However I figured out how to do it! I didn't realise that by clicking on the down arrow next to the eraser you can change the way it is displayed.

Selecting between gives the date slicer.

@rosieclough , Why its showing custom 3- day.

Drag the date again into the visual level filter(directly)  and try.

It may be because you using date hierarchy - Day in visual

Hi @amitchandak thanks for your help.

It seems to now be able to filter for relative date but I still don't have a slicer option (where you can drag between two dates) rather than the checkbox.  Do you know why this is?

Thanks.

@rosieclough , In the visualization pane, Where you have dragged the date, right-click on the date and use date in place of date hierarchy, you will get date and range option

Hi @rosieclough ,

It is because that the date type is recognized as text that you cant find the dates between selection.

Go to power query>right click on the date column>change type>Using locale:
