Date slicer filter

Hi

I am new to power BI.

I am trying to create 2 reports with the same date slicer. I have a calendar table which is used as a date slicer(For eg:September1st-.September 31st)

1st report will retreive the data from a table which is having 4 columns Accounting date, PR No and item No. whose Accounting date falls in between september. Report is working perfectly.

2nd report ,should retreive the data from the same table whose accounting date falls before september. For that I tried creating a measure which compares the accounting date and min(calendar date). But that accounting date is not reflecting in measure. Could you please advise how I can acheive  to the 2nd report.

Thanks in advance.

Since you need that report by default to display the different periods while slicer will only slice one period at a time.

If those reports are on different pages just use a different slicer but both pick the data from the same date table, otherwise, prevent the interaction of the slicer with the report that will retrieve data from the different periods which will also make it not dynamic when you use the slicer.

Hi @SUN_19

From what I understood, you are looking for Sync Slicer
Please ref this article - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-slicers?tabs=powerbi-deskt...

If you looking for Sync Slicer, please note Sync Slicer is only working on one pbix file with multiple pages. It will not work with a separate PBIX file.
Please correct me if I wrong

If resolve your requirement, please mark this answer as SOLUTION.

Thanks
Pijush

Dear Pijush,

Thabks for the reply.

I tried with sync filters but that will give only filter with september in all pages. But I need to retrieve the details before september from the same table. Hope you understand my problem.

I don't think I'm understanding either. Can you please provide some sample data and screenshots of your model and report pages to better illustrate your requirement.

Please find the below  table which I need to filter according to the calendar table given as slicer. FIrst report is showing correct which gives according to the filter given ie Accounting date ranges between the slicer date will filter and generate the data.. Now I need to filter the same table but the data should be before the date in the slicer. For eg: If I have given date as 01/09/20223-15/09/2023. Ist report will generate 1st line only and 2nd report should generate only 2nd line.

Hi @SUN_19
I am not sure I understood the issue correctly.
Sync slicer does not work for two reports.
Please create a sample report or two reports and share the Google Drive link here.

When you say "report," do you mean different pages within the same power bi file? Or do you mean 2 table visuals on the same page? Send a screenshot of your report please.

This is the page which filters according to Sept1-30th.

Now I need to filter the data from the same table in which the 1st page was generated but before sept1st.
