Date shows time which is not desired

Hello!

I'm using the PowerBI Gantt visualization to try to display a list of projects and associated desired data.  One of the fields I'd like to display is the Updated date (in the resource field). On my original dataset this is indicated as the below:

I've duplicated the column and set the time as Date only as you can see below.

However when I insert this field into the resource visualization, it displays as below (nevermind the dates not matching):

My goal would be to display only at mm/dd/yyyy over the bar (in the yellow area) as well as in the tooltip.  Is there a way I can remove from the T to the end and/or reformat this to display mm/dd/yyyy?

I was able to resolve this by doing the below from the original dataset:

  1. Click TRansform Data from the transform tab in PowerBI
  2. In power query, duplicate the date field that has the source data
  3. Change data type to text
  4. Click on Transform tab at top of power query
  5. Click Extract then select Text before Delimiter
  6. Enter the delimiter (a space in my case)

Now I get just the date. Looks like this particular visualization preset has an issue with handling dates in the resource field.

Hi Dino!

Sorry for not mentioning this initially. I already had it set as that value. I also changed the column to the Option with the * and short date, but it still displays as my initial images.
