Date format changes in November 2020 updates

My dear all, previously there was a default date formatting of "mm/dd/yyyy" in the format selection but after I update my pbi desktop with the latest update. this date format was gone. I am using this date column in the column chart axis and dax formatting doesn't work in the column chart axis because it is being treated as text data type and I want to retain is as date to preserve the continuous type in the x-axis.

Can someone help me point on the right track? Thanks in advance!

  • Anonymous , Date format in power is usually taken from system format if not changed. Also as long as it showing a date it should work as the date on the axis. Are using axis type as continuous or categorical?

Can you share a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.

I did not saw any  issue on date format at on Nov 2020 - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
