Date Slicer Stuck in Single Select

I have a table of dates with associated work item counts, and for whatever reason or another, I'm unable to get the date slicer to allow for any other filtering other than Single Selection of dates.  For this specific report, I'd like to be able to dynamically adjust the dates, 7/14 - 7/28, 7/12 - 8/14, etc.  Being stuck selecting single dates makes this... tedious at best.

I really don't know why I'm stuck with this formatting, I've made identical tables with other reports and didn't encounter this issue.  It's incredibly unclear why this is happening, and it's beyond frustrating how little feedback there is in PowerBI desktop to self-diagnose and then subsequently solve this issue.
