Date Slicer Missing Months

Hello,

I have a slicer dropdown using a date heirarchy so that the customer can view specific days, weeks, or months of data. This slicer is on every page in the report. On some pages it will show all of the months under 2020, and only through January on 2021. When I expand January and collapse it, the rest of the months in 2021 appear. If I expand one of them and collapse it, only January 2021 is shown. Any ideas on what could be causing the issue?

I attached two photos, taken from the same slicer. The first photo shows the default view of the slicer when I open this page of the report. The second photo shows what I see after I expand and collapse January.

Hi @DanPBI !

The problem seems to be related with no. of element which can be loaded at a time for slicer visual. This is not specific to Date Year Hierarchy. Try reducing the number of elements by removing Day from the slicer visual hierarchy. This will limit the no. elements to be rendered for slicer visual.

You can do another test by loading a table with 1M or more distinct items, and put this column to a slicer visual, you will observe the same, slicer viusal will only load first few hundered items.

Hope you understand the working.

Regards,

Hasham
